iPhone 12: Apple extends its repair program for sound problems

Apple has decided to extend its repair program for sound issues affecting certain iPhone 12 and 12 Pro. The iPhone 12 mini and Pro Max are not affected.

The program was first launched in August 2021. Apple says it has determined that a very limited number of iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are susceptible to sound issues due to possible module component failure. receiver. The affected devices were manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021.

Initially, there was talk that the program would cover the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro for two years after the product first retailed. Apple today changed the wording and now refers to three years.

If you’re having sound issues with your iPhone 12 or 12 Pro, make an appointment to book a session at an Apple Store, visit an Apple Authorized Service Center, or contact Apple Support. Your phone will be examined before any intervention to verify that it is eligible for this program. Also, if your phone has suffered damage that compromises the repair, such as a cracked screen, these will need to be repaired first. In some cases, you may be charged for this type of additional repair.
