iPadOS 16.2 is out – much more stability and AirTags support
Coinciding with the release of iOS 16.2 and watchOS 9.2, Apple also released iPadOS 16.2 on Tuesday. Here’s what’s new for your iPad.

iPadOS 16.2 is now available for download!
The new version of the operating system for your iPad, iPadOS 16.2, is very similar to iOS 16.2, but also includes new features specific to iPad. You should think of support for external screens via Stage Manager. In addition to the usual bug fixes in the previous version of the software, we also see improved support for the AirTags and the Freeform app is finally available.
Here’s what’s new in iPadOS 16.2: work faster
Like iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2 adds the new Freeform app to the operating system. This allows you to easily manage notes and collaborate faster with others who have Apple devices. In addition, we see innovations in various apps. Apple Music now lets you sing along with the favorite songs through Apple Music Sing. As with watchOS 9.2, the Home app has also been improved.
Fortunately, there are also innovations for the iPad only. For example, Stage Manager now finally supports an external display. This makes your iPad just one step more of a laptop instead of a tablet. With an external mouse and Magic Keyboard, your desktop hub is complete. Note: your iPad must have an M1 chip or newer.
We see the latest innovation with the AirTag. Your iPad will now receive a notification if there is one from this Apple trackers nearby. This can help combat stalking, a problem the AirTag has been battling a lot over the past year.
Download and install iPadOS 16
It is very easy to download and install the new iPad update. To do this, follow the steps below. First, make sure your iPad is charged to at least 50 percent. Done? Then go to the Settings app and tap on ‘General’. under the heading ‘Software update’ you can follow the steps you need to take to update to iPadOS 16.2
