iOS 16.4.1 has a major update – install it now

Major update to iOS 16.4.1
Apple regularly releases updates for the iPhone and iPad. This time it’s a minor update to iOS 16.4.1, but an important one. Apple has used their Rapid Security Responses service for the first time. These are special, small updates containing critical security updates for the iPhone.
You can recognize these special updates by the version designation behind the iOS version they were made for. In this case it is version ‘a’. This update fixes a number of security vulnerabilities, so it is important that you get it as soon as possible.
Install iOS 16.4.1(a).
To install the update, tap ‘Settings > General > Software Update’. Then choose ‘Download and install’. You will then receive the update.
Don’t see the update? Don’t worry, Apple is rolling out the update in phases (within 48 hours). But just to be sure, check whether you have enabled the security measures function. You do that in the following way.
- Tap on ‘Settings’;
- Scroll down and tap “General”;
- Tap on ‘Software Update’;
- Choose ‘Automatic updates’;
- Check whether the slider under ‘Security measures and system files’ is enabled.
