Installing Windows 11 on an old computer is not without danger
There is a workaround to get Windows 11 on an old computer, but now Microsoft warns of dangers.
Microsoft has drawn up a list of system requirements for Windows 11. If your computer does not comply with this, you cannot simply install the latest Windows. However, there is a loophole, which we also wrote about yesterday. Microsoft is now aware of that loophole to install Windows 11 on an old computer. However, the American tech company warns against this.
Because yes, you can indeed install Windows 11 on an old computer this way. But Microsoft tells The Verge that you are not eligible for official updates. Also, don’t expect any security updates for the drivers on your computer. In short, sooner or later you run a risk if you use Windows 11 in combination with the internet. And what is a PC in 2021 without an internet connection? Hackers may at some point have found an entrance into an old version of Windows 11. That is why it is so important to install updates. But that is not possible via the loophole method.
Basically, Windows 11 on your old computer isn’t such a good idea. Unless you can also install the updates via a loophole. But then I’d say, smash your piggy bank and just buy a new computer. Because experiencing Windows 11 in this way is not exactly the best way.
