iOS 15.5: the public beta is available
Apple is releasing the first public beta today for iOS 15.5 on iPhone and iPadOS 15.5 on iPad. It comes 24 hours after the equivalent version for developers. The changes are the same.
First public beta for iOS 15.5
The first beta of iOS 15.5 includes few new features, less on the surface. The changes were mostly spotted in the update code. For example, there are mentions to Apple Classical, which will be Apple’s classical music app. In the Cards app, there are now “Request” and “Send” buttons for Apple Pay Cash. Additionally, Universal Control with iPadOS 15.5 and macOS 12.4 is not functional with devices running iPadOS 15.4 and macOS 12.3. Let’s also mention the best for the SportsKit framework linked to sport, iTunes Pass which becomes Balance Apple or the Apple News application which contains new code to stop supporting certain devices.
If your device is set up to receive public betas, go to Settings > General > Software Update. You will be able to download the first public beta of iOS 15.5. And if you are not part of the test program and want to join, go to beta.apple.comlog in with your Apple account and let yourself be guided.
Apple does not yet say when the final version of iOS 15.5 will be available.
