Introducing the mBank application in Huawei AppGallery
For the sixth year in a row, the Smart banka survey once again brings a nationwide competition for the best banking applications in Slovakia. You can vote for your favorite banking applications from 19 January to 15 March 2021.
As part of the survey, we are preparing a series of articles that are intended to introduce readers to the individual functionalities of Slovak banking applications, on the basis of which you can decide which of them you will vote for. The Huawei AppGallery store also contains applications from all important Slovak banks. In this article, we will introduce the application in more detail mBankwhich has been in store since Huawei since yesterday.
“We consider mBank to be one of the key partners in building the Huawei Mobile Services ecosystem in Slovakia. We are looking forward to the increase in the number of applications available on the HUAWEI AppGallery platform, but at the same time we also pay attention to their quality and user comfort. With the release of the mBank mobile app with integrated support for the latest HUAWEI smartphones, our fans will have seamless access to their finances whenever and wherever they are. ”

Introduction of the application
It’s very simple. All you need is internet access and you can equip everything essential, wherever you are. The aim of the mBank application is to simplify life with the bank. You can log in using your PIN or fingerprint. You can view a brief overview of resources without logging in.
The application offers all the necessary functions. Of course, payments are the most commonly used. There is a detailed history with a quick search, categorization of transactions and clear filters are also available. Of course, it is possible to set limits on the card, or daily or temporary limits or even change the PIN on the card.
With the mBank application, you have full control over your finances, wherever you are. The aim of the application is to simplify communication with the bank and make working with finances more pleasant. In an interview with Lukáš Kiacom, mBank ‘s mobile and internet banking development leader, you will learn everything you need to know about the application.
Why did you decide to publish your application in the HUAWEI AppGallery?
As a digital bank, mBank wants to be constantly close to its clients, so it is natural for us that we have built applications for all platforms.
What were your expectations from working with Huawei, what goals did you set? Are they being fulfilled?
At this point, it is premature to talk about meeting goals, because our application is only available in the AppGallery for a few days. However, the Huawei brand is popular among mBank clients and has a share of more than 20% in Android applications.
What’s the difference between publishing apps and communicating with Huawei and Google / Apple?
From our point of view, the advantage is the presence of the local Huawei team on the Slovak market, because with it we can solve all mutual issues very quickly and operatively during the entire life cycle of the application.
How is the app in the AppGallery different from those in the Google Play / App Store?
We are currently working on adding maps so that our clients have a completely full-fledged application that is no different from other platforms. The second difference is the absence of mobile payments, as the Huawei Pay service is not yet available on our market. However, mBank clients can use other contactless payment options, for example via a contactless sticker.
Which application functionalities are still waiting to be launched in the AppGallery and when will it be?
As I mentioned, we are currently working on adding maps that our clients use to find mBank ATMs or branches. However, they will be available soon.
