Instagram launches ads in search results

Instagram is introducing two new advertising products that should make it even easier for companies to contact their potential customers. This does mean that there will be a new place where Instagram users will be presented with advertisements. Ads will soon also be shown in search results.

Instagram and Ads

Instagram users may have gotten used to ads lately, as the app is full of them these days. For example, countless ads appear between your Stories and in your Instagram feed, or timeline. You can also encounter sponsored messages when viewing Reels. There is now another place, because Instagram will also show advertisements in search results and there will be special reminder advertisements. Below we discuss them.

Ads in search results

These ads appear in the feed where you as a user come when you click on a search result. That should happen when you as a user start scrolling. Instagram reports, among other things, the following:

We started testing ads in search results to reach people who are actively looking for companies, products and content. Ads appear in the feed. People can scroll when they tap a post in search results. We plan to launch this placement globally in the coming months.

Reminder Ads

Users will soon be able to indicate that they are interested in a particular advertisement. For example, you should think of an advertisement that offers a discount on the Huishoudbeurs. For this you can click on ‘remind me’ – if it is available with the relevant advertisement. Instagram will then remind you of the event and also send you notifications for it. You will receive three notifications a day before, fifteen before and at the time of the event. This allows you – of course with your handcart – to prepare yourself as well as possible for the event in the RAI Amsterdam.
