Farmer Tom welcomes second son: ‘A boy from the countryside’

Difficult start
‘Welcome, dear Keith. We are very proud of our beautiful and brave son and brother,” the farmer writes with a photo of his family. “What a wonderful Christmas it will be with the four of us.” Kees had a rough start, because after ten days he was hit by the RS virus, a respiratory infection. “He had to go to the hospital for three days to monitor whether that peak would not become too high, that his blood values would remain good,” Tom tells RTL Boulevard. ‘He had a very high fever and was very short of breath. That was pretty awful.’ Fortunately Kees did not need extra oxygen in the end. ‘It was exciting, but afterwards it was not so bad’, adds Marieke. “He’s a kid from the countryside, so he’s strong and he’ll recover,” said Tom. The couple already had a son: Moos.
