Instagram comes with new ‘Take a break’ function: you can do this with it
Instagram is working on a new feature that will allow you to take a break for yourself. Ideal, because it’s no secret that social networks have an addictive factor. Instagram now wants to do something about it.
Instagram with Take a break
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has announced that the photo service is working on a new feature called ‘Take a Break’. It should ensure that users are encouraged to take a break after a certain amount of time has been spent in the Instagram app. The function can be turned on or off and you can choose to be reminded that you are taking a break after 10, 20 or 30 minutes of app activity, for example.
Mosseri says the feature was developed as part of a wider effort to give people more control over their Instagram experience. In the future, he says, we should see more ideas like this appear. In the coming days, a small portion of users will be offered the new feature. The function should be widely rolled out sometime in December, says Adam Mosseri.
Testing “Take a Break”
We started testing a new feature called “Take a Break” this week. This opt-in control enables you to receive break reminders in-app after a duration of your choosing.
I’m excited to dig into the results & hopefully launch this sometime in December. ✌🏼 pic.twitter.com/WdSTjL6ZdH
