Inspired by the iPhone 13: Huawei adopts a practical feature
What Apple can do, Huawei can do too: The special satellite technology of the iPhone 13 should also be found in the upcoming Huawei Mate 50. Both manufacturers are in a race for a function about which there are many misunderstandings.
Huawei: Mate 50 takes over iPhone 13 feature
While the iPhone 13 is as good as in the starting blocks, fans of Huawei will have to be patient. The Mate 50 is no longer expected to be released this year. Both smartphones will probably have the same and interesting function feature. Apple will apparently not offer them directly at launch with the iPhone 13, which is why Huawei may even be ahead of Apple with the Mate 50.
With the iPhone 13, satellite technology is used for the first time, with which users can allegedly write an SMS and even make calls when they have no network at all. This could prove extremely helpful, especially in rural areas. In the meantime, however, there are indications that the technology will not that revolutionary is as initially claimed. It should not be used for conversations, but only for short text messages in an emergency.

The background to the speculation is that special 5G chip in the iPhone 13, which Huawei also had an eye on with the Mate 50 (source: Huawei Central). This not only allows LTE and 5G connections, but can in principle also communicate with satellites. Apple is to cooperate with Globalstar in order to be able to offer iPhone-13 customers such a service.
Apple or Huawei: who will win the race?
The next year will show which of the two smartphone manufacturers will ultimately do the Race for satellite technology wins. Apple has a head start with the much earlier release of the iPhone 13, but Huawei could catch up with it quickly. The Mate 50 is expected in the second quarter of 2022.
