In Cyberpunk 2077, the subway and overground -apkrig are finally working

Regardless of whether you liked the Cyberpunk 2077 or not, the developers on the RED Project CD can’t be denied one thing. They put together one of the most enchanting cities in the history of video games – Night City – and in line with the aesthetics of cyberpunk, they contributed to its unforgettable atmosphere. But not everything in the city works according to the players’ ideas and hinders the imagination in the flight. One such thing is the public transport system – Night City Area Rapid Transit – which in the basic version of the game we can basically only watch, usually overhead in different parts of the city. However, the authors of the modifications did not want to be satisfied with just creating tools for researching where the railways actually lead and preparing a functional system that can of course be used for transport around the city with a bonus view of the city itself.

The modification that NCART makes available is available on the Nexus Mods portal under the simple designation Metro System. To date, it has recorded 3,500 downloads and received two hundred referrals from users of the portal. The author of the modification is a fan with the nickname keanuWheeze and in the description of his work he brings information on how to put the modification into operation and what to expect from it. The important thing has already been said – 19 stations will be available in Night City, which can be used to get in and out of the set. While driving, you can listen to radio stations as if you were driving, switching between first and third person views, or, in addition to endlessly enjoying the local architecture, move to other seats or follow the information boards where you are and to which station you are heading. In addition, the author of the modification boasted that no loading awaits you, and everything is also fully compatible for gamepad control, if you use it to play the PC version.

As for the installation, everything is relatively simple, all you have to do is install the Cyber Engine Tweaks interface and then the modified Native Settings UI before applying the Metro System mode. Then you just copy the 591Kb package to the appropriate directories and public transport is available to you. In the modification settings, you can also adjust the train speed, the camera distance in 3rd person mode, the waiting time at individual stations or the ticket price. Please note, however, that players have already reported two bugs today – problems with sounds and crashing when changing perspectives. Therefore, proceed with the modification with caution and be sure to back up the saved positions. Otherwise, enthusiastic reactions prevail on the Nexus Mods, and players are literally enchanted by how the game can work.
