In October, I finally got my new smartphone – OnePlus Nord. Due to the high demand, I did not get the blue version, but I had to be satisfied with the gray one. The package included a 30-watt charging adapter and a silicone protective cover. A pleasant detail is the foil glued on the display from the factory. Although it is easily scratched, it will fulfill its purpose for some time. The sides of the device are plastic and at the back we can find shiny glass, which is a magnet for fingerprints, so I recommend using the enclosed cover. OnePlus also sells other covers with interesting motifs.
By today’s standards, the OnePlus Nord is a compact smartphone
The smartphone in your hand looks quite compact, thanks to its 6.44-inch Full HD + AMOLED display. The icing on the cake is the 90 Hz refresh rate, thanks to which it works incredibly fast and smoothly. The almost pure Android 10 with the OxygenOS extension also contributes to this. I recently received an update to Android 11, and I feel that some animations have accelerated, which further helps the system run smoothly. The fingerprint reader is perfectly processed directly in the display and is, in a word, lightning fast.
The Snapdragon 765G processor, with the support of 5G networks, is also doing its job with pleasant use, which will definitely work out in the future. Even with this price tag we find 8 GB of RAM. Until recently, this value was the prerogative of flagships, but is gradually reaching the upper middle class. The internal memory is 128 GB and it should be taken into account that microSD cards are not supported. For the more demanding, there is also a version with 256 GB of memory, which is seconded by up to 12 GB of RAM.
Cameras are good considering the price
Cameras are a chapter in themselves. The main camera has a resolution of 48 Mpx and shoots really well under favorable lighting conditions, but the less light, the more noise and reduced quality. The second camera is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera. When shooting the same scene with both lenses, you can see lower lens brightness and a lower level of detail.
I can’t complain significantly about my price. The four is complemented by a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. I haven’t turned it on since I tried it, as this resolution is not enough for serious photos. I’m especially sorry that the application does not support shooting in 16: 9 format, but only 4: 3 or 1: 1.
OnePlus Nord does not disappoint with endurance, it will please fast charging
Stamina is very decent. There is a battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh in the bowels. When used lightly, two days is nothing special. Even after a busy day, I had about 30% of battery capacity left. As I already mentioned, the package contains a 30 W adapter and with the help of Warp Charge technology, I will recharge the energy in an emergency in a flash. Due to the price, we will not find wireless charging here.
I will finally answer the question from the title. No, I definitely do not regret this purchase. I think this smartphone is one of the best purchases up to 400 euros and I recommend it to all ten.
We thank Michal for his valuable observations.
