Ikea car at a ridiculous price: electric runabouts are copied from the furniture store
Recently, more and more companies are looking for solutions to the lack of parking spaces in big cities. The result is small, manoeuvrable city electric cars like the Microlino. The Swedish manufacturer Luvly has now copied a tried-and-tested transport concept from its compatriots at Ikea in order to reduce costs and the environmental impact.
Furniture and cars: Same transport concept
The idea is proven and ingenious: The Luvly company does not ship the Luvly 0 e-car as a whole, but rather broken down into parts. According to the company, this saves a lot of space. In this way, 20 examples of the L7e vehicle fit into a container in which you could normally only accommodate 4 assembled pieces.
This not only saves Luvly costs, but also improves its own ecological footprint. This enables an unbeatable price: The Luvly 0 is supposed to only 10,000 euros cost and is therefore cheaper than the Microlino.
If you’re already worried about having to assemble the city runabout yourself like a Billy shelf in the garage, you don’t need to be afraid. The individual parts should not be delivered to you. It will be much more likely regional manufacturers who take care of assembling the individual parts.

Luvly 0: Light electric vehicles on the rise?
After the spiritual successor of the BMW Isetta, the Microlino, and the Opel Rocks-e, the Luvly 0 is now coming. Like the Microlino, the latter is also expected to belong to the vehicle class L7e, to the light electric vehicles (LEM). To do this, he must meet certain requirements:

The Luvly 0 is said to be 2.7 x 1.53 x 1.44 meters and lighter than 400 kg. According to the manufacturer, he creates one Top speed of 90 kilometers per hour. That’s all it takes to jet out of the city on the country road to the nearest lake. What performance the Luvly 0 will ultimately have is not yet entirely clear – but it won’t be much.
In total, you come with one charge 100 kilometers far – but it should be possible to replace the two battery modules with a total of 6.4 kilowatt hours individually. This means that the little one consumes 6 kWh per 100 kilometers.
The special feature: the so-called “hot-swapping” is possible, which means you can swap the batteries during use. It is not yet known whether the 15-kilogram batteries can be purchased separately in order to store them like an emergency canister in the 267-litre trunk.
Nobody knows exactly when the Luvly 0 will start in Germany. After all, you can sign up for the LEM already register without obligation (Here to the website of the manufacturer). Other models are to follow in the near future (source: Der Standard).
