Hybrid letter mail from Deutsche Post DHL [Anzeige]

Business mail is and will remain relevant – even in 2023. Thanks to the mail solutions from Deutsche Post DHL, it can still be future-oriented and climate-friendly. You can find out how this works and how you can save emissions when sending letters with insetting measures here.

Despite digitization, the analog letter is extremely popular in business communication – and is therefore indispensable for many companies. Because in contrast to e-mails, which are usually only read quickly, a haptic letter is remembered longer, which gives it a clear advantage.

A survey conducted by Deutsche Post makes this clear: the reasons most often given for using classic letter mail are the personal address and the high level of acceptance by the recipients. Both are relevant for customer loyalty and therefore of great importance for companies.

But is postal mail still up-to-date in times of climate change and energy transition? How sustainable is mail delivery? Deutsche Post and DHL have dealt intensively with this question – and invested around 600 million euros in their sustainability initiative and the expansion of their e-mobility in 2022 alone.

Hybrid business mail: actively avoiding emissions

Their solution is: hybrid mail. With this approach, Deutsche Post combines the best of both worlds: digital shipping with analogue reception. So while you conveniently create your business mail digitally and send it with one click, your customers receive their mail in the mailbox as usual – and under environmentally friendly and resource-saving conditions.

Because within the framework of Go Green Plus the still unavoidable CO₂ emissions from the transport of hybrid letters elsewhere within Deutsche Post’s logistics network are saved in full. Keyword: insetting. To this end, Deutsche Post is making additional investments in climate protection measures, for example by purchasing and using sustainable fuels or electric vehicles for shipment transport.

The insetting builds on the offsetting options. While offsetting does not avoid emissions within one’s own supply chain, but CO2 is compensated retrospectively and via external international climate protection projects, the insetting approach goes one step further through active avoidance.
