Huawei launches smartwatch with built-in wireless earphones

Huawei has presented a very remarkable watch. The ‘Huawei Watch Buds’ is a smartwatch with a pair of wireless earphones under its screen. The earphones work with active noise canceling (ANC) and gesture navigation. The Huawei Watch Buds have only been announced in China for now.

Huawei Watch Buds

Huawei has been teasing this product for a while, but now the Watch Buds have also been officially announced. It’s a seemingly normal smartwatch with a 1.43 inch AMOLED screen. Only you can find a pair of wireless earphones under the screen and that is quite special. The Watch Buds is a two-in-one product for those who want their earphones always at hand – and you can take that literally.

The earphones themselves actually work exactly like other wireless earphones, but they are quite compact in shape. Although they still work with touch gestures, they don’t have such a long battery life as a result. You can play music for about three hours with ANC and without background noise suppression you can use them for four hours.

The smartwatch can then go three days without its charger. It can also register up to 80 different activities and you can download apps that work with Huawei’s Harmony OS on the watch. There is also a heart rate sensor and the watch analyzes your sleep and stress. The housing is made of stainless steel and the Huawei Watch Buds have a leather strap.

Price and availability

Huawei has only announced its watch with earphones in China, but the Huawei Watch Buds may be able to come to the Netherlands and Belgium later. Nothing is known about this at the moment. If we convert the Chinese price and apply VAT, we get an amount of about 492 euros as a result.

Huawei launched its Watch GT 3 earlier this year, which we were able to test extensively. In the field of earphones, we also welcomed a new product: the FreeBuds Pro 2. You can read our review here.
