Wetri: a penny for a waste!
Wetri is an application developed by Guillaume and Arnaud Louiset, brothers and entrepreneurs who want make the French aware of recycling as they explain on their website:
The project was born from an observation as consumers: our waste has a lot of value, but it is underused.
The app allows you to geolocate places that allow you to do so by “specialty”. This will help you know where to put each item you want to give a second life. Coffee capsules, corks and the like can be reborn and used again. Wetri also offers to recycle plastic pots, pens, glasses, watches, smartphones, batteries, ink cartridges, clothes, cooking oil, and more many other things… But where Wetri goes further is thatshe rewards you for every good deed you do.
Take a picture of yourself in front of the collection bin, send your photo and you will earn points that can be converted into money, vouchers from partners or donations to pro-environmental associations. A rather clever way to push anyone to make an effort. The designers also have great ambitions for their application: to make it ” the reference recycling tool for the general public in France“, in the next two years.
