How to customize your profile picture

To give your player profile on Steam your own touch, you can choose a suitable profile picture or upload one yourself. Here you can find out how you can change your Steam avatar on the PC and smartphone and what you have to consider.

Steam supports most image formats and you can also use images in any possible aspect ratio, but your profile picture on the gaming platform is always square. Therefore, you should make sure that everything that is important in the photo or image can be displayed in a square and that the face, logo or anything else is not cropped unfavorably. In addition, the image should be at least 184 × 184 pixels.

Change profile picture on pc

1. starts Steam and log in.
2. moves the Hover over your Steam name and clicks “Profile” at.
   

3. When you get to your profile page, click on the right “Edit profile” button.
4. Select the point in the menu (left). “avatar” at.
   

5. Now you can choose between the following two options:
   1. To use your own image, click on it Upload avatar button. Now choose one file from your PC and adjust the image section.
   2. For a pre-designed profile picture from one of your games, click below “Your Avatars” on the Show all button and select the appropriate image.
6. Finally, click on the below “Save” buttonto accept your selection.

Customize avatar in app

1. Starts the Steam app on your mobile device.
2. Tap yours at the top current profile picture and then on the View profile button.
3. Choose the “Edit profile” button at.
4. Tap on the tab “avatar”.
   

5. Swipe down and you will see the following two options:
   1. To use your own picture from your smartphone, tap on the Upload avatar button. Now choose one file from your gallery and adjust the image section.
   2. You can select a pre-designed Steam avatar from games you own by going to “Your Avatars” on the Show all button pushes.
6. Finally, you tap on the “Save” buttonto confirm your choice.
