Super fast charging

Realme showed off its custom Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition today. This is a phone with a 4,100 mAh battery that, thanks to the new 300W fast charging technology, is fully charged in 5 minutes. This phone with this fast fast charger is not yet on the market, but the Realme GT3 will. That phone comes with a 240W fast charger that fully charges the 4600 mAh battery in 9.5 minutes.

According to Realme, the battery of the GT3 will not suffer from this. An important part of this fast charger is the Battery Health Engine (BHE). This ensures that the battery continues to perform at 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, doubling the current industry standard of 800 cycles.

According to Samsung, super fast charging is not good for the battery. That is why the company sticks to the 45W fast charging for its Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra. And yes, in the past Xiaomi had to admit that its 200W charger had a pretty negative impact on battery life. Realme says it can prove the opposite with the GT3 and the 240W fast charger.
