how important is 5G to you?
This morning, the Google Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 received 5G support in the Netherlands through the June security update. We are curious if you are already using this fast network.
5G in the Netherlands
The 5G network via the 700 MHz band was turned on in the Netherlands last year. KPN and T-Mobile were the first providers and Vodafone previously offered comparable speeds, but via the existing 4G network. We do not expect the biggest performance gain until 2021 or 2022, because then the 3.5 Ghz band will be auctioned and mobile internet can become two to three times as fast. Meanwhile, manufacturers are already working on faster hardware that can handle even higher download speeds, and budget phones can already take advantage of the faster mobile network. For example, there is already a 5G phone for 229 euros.
