What is the purpose of incognito mode?

Many people believe that incognito mode completely hides everything you do on the Internet. But that is not entirely true. It serves primarily to so that you can browse websites anonymously on your phone / tablet / computer. It is therefore advisable to use it, for example, for devices that are not yours or are shared. If you turn on incognito mode, Google Chrome will not store your history, permissions on individual websites and cookies. It only saves them until you close the window. It also does not store the data you have filled in various forms and, of course, passwords.

In other words Incognito mode does not guarantee that your online activity will not be recorded. Will be. Websites, such as your ISP or employer, can still see your activity, so this mode is definitely not suitable for maximum privacy. If you want to be almost invisible, you will need one VPN. How do I turn on incognito mode in Google Chrome?

Using incognito mode alone is very easy in Google Chrome. How to do it?

  1. Launch Google Chrome
  2. Click the three dots in the upper right corner
  3. Select the “New anonymous card” option

If you want to guarantee a little more privacy, you can leave this option on “Block third-party cookies”. In anonymous mode, of course, you can open several tabs, which will remain available to you even after switching back to normal. We therefore recommend that you check whether you have actually closed the anonymous cards. Otherwise, with just a click, anyone will see what you have open.
