OnePlus 9 RT pops up, but what good is it to you and me?

A new smartphone in the form of the OnePlus 9 RT has surfaced. The question is, what are you and I supposed to do with this phone?

As you may know, OnePlus launched the 9 Series at the beginning of this year. Here in Europe, that series consists of the 9 and 9 Pro. The 9R was also launched in India at the time. This variant would never make the crossing to Europe. Now the new OnePlus 9 RT has surfaced. You can already feel it coming. This phone is also intended for the market in India.

Sources to Android Central say it’s a minimally improved variant of the 9R. The launch of the new smartphone should be in October this year. India is a very important market for OnePlus. In that country, most residents do not have the budget for a real flagship phone. However, a model just below that scores well again. It therefore pays for a company like OnePlus to develop a separate model for only a certain market.

The OnePlus 9 RT is reportedly equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, has a battery with a capacity of 4,500mAh and of course gets Android 12 in the form of OxygenOS. The wide-angle lens would also be the same as that of the current 9 and 9 Pro, which is a 50 MP camera. Another upgrade is a refresh rate for the OLED display with 120Hz.

In addition to India, the OnePlus 9 RT would also be sold in China. Prices are not yet known.
