Honor is looking for staff in the Netherlands, does not support old phones

Honor is going to release phones again, and it is also targeting the European market. The brand is starting a second life, but will not be responsible for the support of its older devices. That remains a matter for Huawei. Honor is already looking for staff in the Netherlands.

The Return of Honor

Honor launched its Honor 50 series this month, which consists of the Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro and Honor 50 SE. First they will be released in China, but later the budget flagships should also appear on the market with us. At the moment, Honor is already active in Northern Europe, but the Androidworld editors are not yet aware of a representation in the Netherlands or Belgium. Although the LinkedIn vacancy below that we could find, already reveals that Honor is looking for staff in the Netherlands.

Vacancy of Honor in the Netherlands

The Finnish SuomiMobiili already spoke with Honor’s local marketing manager in that country. In this way, the brand brings more clarity about support for older devices. All Honor phones released before April 1, 2021 will in principle receive software updates and support from Huawei, but the brand will be open to questions from users.

What about the old phones?

“If a customer contacts us, we will always try to help them before referring them to Huawei customer service,” said Suvi Surenkin, marketing director for Honor in Finland and the Baltics. “We stay [klanten, nvdr.] help with problems related to the phones, and we already get a lot of such questions through social media for example. We want to help both old and new Honor customers as best we can.”

Surenkin states that Huawei’s Honor phones can count on the same level of support as Huawei phones. The Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro and Honor View 20 will still receive monthly security updates, while the other devices of the brand will receive quarterly updates for at least two years after release.

Second Life

In November of 2020, it was announced that Huawei had sold its Honor brand under pressure from US sanctions. The brand has since been owned by a Chinese company called ‘Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd’.

In fact, it is a joint venture owned by 30 Honor employees and distributors. The company employs 8,000 people worldwide. Are you looking forward to the return of Honor in the Netherlands and Belgium? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
