home screen! A look at Bernd Vermaaten’s smartphone

In the “Homescreen!” series we present the homescreens of people from the social media, marketing, media and tech industries – including app recommendations and tips for everything from to-do lists to small games in between. Today: Bernd Vermaaten, Managing Director of Solute GmbH.

Communication is the be-all and end-all

Bernd Vermalten: As an e-commerce service provider, solute operates in a highly dynamic market. For me personally that means: I have to juggle a lot of balls at once. So that no one falls off, I prefer to use MS365 (for Android). The app acts as my communication center.

I use it for email communication, of course, but also for calendar management as well MS teams (for Android) for scheduling appointments, chat and video conferencing. The app supports me as a team player in a larger structure, so that I can be contacted directly by others without long official channels and almost everywhere. This is very important to me.

For external communication, I am very happy to take up LinkedIn (for Android) return. The social channel is a perfect mouthpiece. On the one hand, it allows me to maintain the network, but at the same time to promote branding – for example in corporate and personnel issues – as well as sales activities.

The world of e-commerce is so diverse that at some point I decided to summarize the most important news and trends in a monthly newsletter. There I explain, for example, the business model of live shopping. And: Even as managing director, I want to be approachable and approachable. This works very well with and on LinkedIn.

Always keep an eye on everything

At solute, I am responsible for sales, finance/M&A, business development, product design, marketing, cooperation and partnerships, and administration. In view of this area of responsibility, self-organization has top priority for me.

That’s what I’m up for document (for Android), an extremely cool scanning app that allows me to scan, store and send documents quickly and efficiently – making it easy to digitize even tedious paperwork. For example, do I have to attend a business appointment by car? Google Maps (for Android) clearly my first choice.

This program is my savior on the road and helps me to reach my destination safely and quickly at all times. And so that no parking tickets have a chance, EasyPark is used: I use it to find free parking spaces and pay parking fees. Both apps help me to keep track of everything related to arrival and departure.

Shop with foresight

I keep myself up to date professionally via LinkedIn, privately it is mainly the apps from n-tv (for Android) and Finanzen.de (for Android) who regularly provide me with news. Speaking of money: I also like to manage my private finances using my smartphone. I prefer to use the “finanzblick” banking app (for Android).

This makes it easy to control shopping expenses, for example those incurred with Amazon purchases. To the Amazon app (for Android) getting around is almost impossible. Unfortunately, it is very user-friendly and, above all, easy to use.

Bernd Vermaaten is an ice hockey and music fan

In my private life, I really like to switch off at ice hockey matches. As a big fan of Adler Mannheim I am informed by the club’s own app (for Android) about all relevant news about the team, players, matches, merchandise and more.

My second great passion: music. There is a suitable soundtrack for every situation in life Spotify (for Android). And: If I come across an unfamiliar catchy tune, I pull out my cell phone and open it Shazam (for Android).
