Hidden detail or coincidence? Marauder’s Map Spoils Harry Potter Movies

In the “Harry Potter“-Universe, the Marauder’s Map is one of the more interesting items. But in the film, it anticipates part of the plot.

The Marauder’s Map reveals an important detail

In fact, everyone wants a map as useful as the Marauder’s Map. It shows all the locations of all people and creatures that move on the Hogwarts grounds. Lupine, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black, and James Potter, the creators of the map, immortalized themselves on this map with their aliases in this order: Moon, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Crown. The order matters because in reverse order Spoilers on when the characters will die.

James Potter died when Harry was a baby. After that follows in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” Sirius Black. He is killed by Bellatrix. After Peter Pettigrew gives Lord Voldemort a new body and sacrifices his hand in return, he is strangled by the replacement hand he is given afterwards in the Malfoy’s basement. In “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” Lupine dies during the Battle of Hogwarts. Fortunately, this detail can only be correctly identified by viewers who already know the whole story of “Harry Potter” and, of course, carefully look at the map.
