Heading Out is a black and white tribute to the iconic road movie -apkrig

The four-member studio Serious Sim is embarking on a new project after the release of Radio Commander. That you haven’t even heard of the first one? It doesn’t matter, you can supplement your knowledge on Steam, for example, and dive into the Vietnam War through the eyes of a man who receives and sends messages to troops on the battlefield via radio. You have time until next year, when Heading Out comes out – a racing adventure set in the 1970s, in which you drive around the United States as a villain. And it should be added that in very stylish cars, and moreover in enchanting black and white styling. At first glance, it is clear that Heading Out – A Narrative Road Movie Racing Game – as the full name suggests, is not a completely ordinary game, and if nothing else, it could at least provide an interesting experience.

It will be largely determined by the player himself, even before he gets behind the wheel. As the developers explain, an integral part of Heading Out is a character editor – a villain – who uses a set of questions to create a player’s profile, including why he’s on the run, who exactly is after him, what is the player’s motivation to escape the pursuers and what are his biggest worries and dreams. The choices a player makes in their character’s editor will also affect what they hear on the radio and radio, as they will undoubtedly make headlines and newspapers as they flee across the United States.

According to their developers, they were inspired by the cult of the road movie, such as Thelma and Louise, Vanishing Point or Dvouproudá asfaltka, and in addition to the story and story choices, they wanted to incorporate the interactivity of their own video games into Heading Out. Therefore, we will be able to directly control beautiful cars, enjoy the joy of driving and struggle with the police or other drivers. However, even very quiet and peaceful moments, such as contemplation of various views or a night ride through a peaceful desert, should not be strange to the game. In addition, however, it is necessary to constantly monitor the fuel level in the tank and the overall condition of the vehicle and make sure that it is always reliable. Only this can get you out of trouble, it can only move you in the story and reveal other fascinating places or other mysterious travelers. Thanks to the rogue concept, each ride should be completely different and write new stories, but the question is how many possibilities there will actually be and how they will differ from each other. The developer promises over a hundred comic-tuned moments, which have a meaningful conclusion and always lead to a decision that will affect the further course of the game.

Perhaps, regardless of the great style, beautiful trailer and impressive pictures, there is no danger that it is not a sophisticated work in terms of gameplay, but on the other hand it will certainly not be the most expensive and taking into account how much Radio Commander is sold for, we expect a price tag of around 15 euros. That could potentially balance you even if you were heading out fast played. If you’re interested in the game, you should also know that the developers at Serious Sim have one rule, strikingly reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino’s approach – they only want to create 11 games, so hopefully they’ll learn a lot during Heading Out and other titles will be no less interesting. US highways will open next year on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Switches.
