handy wireless for your home office

JLab has released a headset with a microphone under the name GO Work and we have tested the headset. This product may be of interest to those who work at home and are looking for a wireless headset!

JLab GO Work review

In addition to the headset, the box of the JLab GO Work also contains a booklet with the steps to get started with the GO Work headset. Furthermore, JLab also supplies a USB-C charging cable and a 3.5 millimeter adapter to USB-C. There is no 3.5 millimeter connection on the headset itself, which is inconvenient if you want to use the headset wired.

In terms of feel, the headset feels reasonable, but the buttons seem to be a bit loose in the housing, which makes it rattle a bit. The cushion on the top of the headphones could also have been a bit thicker and softer.

Sound quality and usage

Pairing your Bluetooth device is easily arranged and we can quickly get to work. What is handy about the GO Work is that it supports multipoint, so you can be connected to two devices at the same time. Handy for, for example, connecting to your computer and phone at the same time. For example, it is possible to make calls and when you don’t expect a call, you can switch to your work playlist without fuss.

JLab Go Work headset review

The quality of the music via the headset is somewhat dull because it mainly lacks a bit of highs, just like with the Jbuds Air ANC, the bass is also well represented. We have tested whether there is a difference between listening via Bluetooth and wired, but the sound is also somewhat dull there. By pressing the volume buttons at the same time, you can switch between a music and voice equalizer, which is especially useful when making a phone call.

Making calls is no problem at all and we can be heard clearly on the other end of the line. You can rotate the microphone in two directions, so you can choose whether you want the microphone on the left or right side of the face. In addition, you can mute the microphone and use the buttons on the headset to answer a phone call, for example.

In practice, the battery life is about 40 hours, which means you can get through an average working week without reaching for the charger. Charging is done via the included blue cable!

Rating

The JLab GO Work headset is a great consideration if you’re looking for an affordable headset for your home office. The audio quality is a bit dull when it comes to playing music, but well suited for making phone calls or a Teams meeting!
