half of readers already have a smart thermostat

51 percent of readers already have a smart thermostat and no less than 29 percent are interested in it. Now that we will see the energy bill skyrocket in the near future, that little bit of extra insight is not a superfluous luxury.

Smart thermostat

Although half already have a smart thermostat and 29 percent think: ‘I am interested’, there are also people who do not like such a smart thermostat at all. 17 percent say they don’t have one and would like to keep it that way, while 2 percent have no opinion. Jeca.N jokes: “With these gas prices, we don’t use a thermostat at all 🤣.”

Sports diver doesn’t really see the point of a smart thermostat. “I have underfloor heating and it is set to 1 temperature day and night. The simplest thermostat is enough for me.” Katty has a completely different reason for not having the smart thermostat yet: “I don’t know whether those devices can be operated if you are completely blind and whether the included apps are accessible to talkback users. I should really be able to look at such a thing first and see it in action to see if I can handle it.”

AW Poll

He is curious and interested. Just like Sportduikertje, Dendroid doesn’t really think it’s necessary: “Is he smarter than me 🤪? We just turn the hand up and down. For years, our family has consumed so little that I don’t know what else he can teach us. Smart equipment is nice, but I still use my head.” Marijn.V has another reason for not being so keen on the smart thermostat: “I find it interesting, but I’m getting so tired of all those subscriptions that you have to close in order to make maximum use of all functions. This is still holding me back. Purchase 1x and then purchase expansion sets if necessary.”

In addition, the smarthome is generally feared for privacy and hacking, while there are other people who enthusiastically exclaim that they are happy with their Nest or Tado. Opinions are therefore very divided about the smart thermostats. Some people have too irregular lives, making such a schedule that you can set on that device not ideal. So they are certainly not always good solutions in all areas, although there is a way to adapt for many scenarios.

AW Poll: half of the readers already have a smart thermostat
