Hacking Instagram – what works and what can happen?

How to hack Instagram? That’s a good question considering how many users the service has worldwide. Obviously it works, because you read about hacks all the time. GIGA explains to you whether you could hack someone else’s Instagram account – and what you might then expect.

If your Instagram account has been hacked, it clearly means that Instagram can be hacked. How to get your Instagram account back with a lot of work and luck is another topic, but you may be wondering how to get into someone else’s account or still see a private account. Here we explain what is possible.

Hackers gain most Instagram access via phishing:

Why Attackers Hack Instagram

There are no reasonable reasons to hack an Instagram account. Usually, hackers do not do this out of curiosity, but to spread spam via a hacked account, for example, or to sneak into the trust of your followers and steal their access data from them as well.

“Private individuals” want to hack Instagram to possibly see something that would otherwise remain hidden from them because an account is “private”.

In the rarest of cases, users want to hack Instagram because they forgot their password. There are simpler solutions for this.

How to hack into Instagram?

Signing in to Instagram is usually done with a combination of username and password. Alternatively, an e-mail address or a telephone number can be used instead of the user name. Only those who have both get into your account. So if you want to hack into an Instagram account, you have to get the password somehow, because the username is easy to determine.

  • To see an Instagram username, just go to the desired profile in the browser.
  • At the top of the address line is https://www.instagram.com/ – followed by the user name. It is usually also at the top of the user’s profile.

Now you need the password – that’s what it’s all about. So how do you get a password like that to take over an account?

Most successful Instagram hacks have used the phishing method. In this case, someone fakes an email from Instagram, which mentions security issues, for example, and asks the recipient to log into the account to verify their identity.

A link in the e-mail leads to a deceptively real fake registration page where you enter your data. With this data, the backers then immediately take over your account, change the login data and lock you out forever. Even e-mails to reset the data end up at the hacker’s newly entered e-mail address.

Of course, this method is not available to most people who just want to hack a single Instagram account. You can only really get ahead here if you do that guess password can. Another possibility may be that you have access to the email address associated with the account. Then you can use the “forgot password function” to get into the Instagram account.

In any case, what you should completely forget about are the apps, websites and videos that offer to hack an Instagram account for you. In the most harmless case they don’t work, in the worst case you have a Trojan in your cell phone.

Don’t use Instagram hackers!

As Irfan Shakeel shows in his video, all the “hacking services” that claim you can hack into any Instagram account are not only nonsensical, but often dangerous.

Each of these offerings want “quid pro quo” – even if they claim to be free. For example, you should download and install an app before you are given the access data. These apps are then Trojans that do not hack Instagram accounts, but instead tap your data and send it to the perpetrators.

Other providers want money or bitcoin without providing the slightest proof that they have done their job. Don’t fall for this!
