Guardians of the Galaxy require 150 GB of disk space -apkrig
If you are anxiously awaiting the Ranger of the Galaxy from the developers of Eidos Montréal, you will receive answers to your questions in eight days. The game is released on October 26, and if you plan to play it on your computer, you probably haven’t missed the hardware requirements published over the weekend. Even in the case of the recommended set, this is nothing that could not be achieved even with a machine that is several years old, when it is to be the optimum for playing the GeForce GTX 1660, resp. Radeon RX 590, 16 GB of RAM and processor at the Intel Core i7-4790 level, resp. AMD Ryzen 5 1600. But the only thing that can scare you when looking at information about system requirements is the requirement for 150 GB of free space, and also the SSD, which Eidos developers recommend for a smooth experience. Although we respect that the size of games, with regard to better textures or music in lossless quality, is constantly increasing, it is always a bit surprising to see a number exceeding mythical the 100 GB limit, especially for a game that does not work with the concept of open-world and its processing is not one of the most cinematic that the gaming industry can produce.
We are therefore not surprised by the very passionate debates that this information has provoked, but the reality is – as is usually the case – much more boring. According to The Gamer magazine, the comparison with Red Dead Redemption 2 or Call of Duty is out of place. Players will only download the 32GB data package that the horrible 150GB needs exclusively for installation, after which space will be freed again. Yes, it still means you have to clean up on the target disk, which can be a problem if you only have a small SSD set aside for gaming, but the impact of this gigabytes The disaster is not as massive as it might have seemed at first. On the other hand, it is obvious to ask when developers quite commonly allows players to modify downloads or installations with items such as high-resolution textures, uncompressed music, and other components that not all players may use. In this way, a lot of space could be saved, as evidenced, for example, by the installation of Far Cry 6 – with the optional download of HD textures, the size of the downloaded data package suddenly doubled.
As for the console version, we don’t know the exact size of the game yet, but according to a recent leak from the PlayStation Store database, it looks like the PS5 version will be around 42 GB. We don’t expect it to be any different on the Xbox Series, with the modularity of the installation package mentioned above potentially reaching the size. It is possible that even on a PC it will be possible to add better textures to the installation, or to select more language packs, but we will have a clearer picture with the upcoming release date. The developers have not yet commented on the hardware requirements.
