Got late? 10 ways to combine kid and hangover

1. “Daddy’s Coming Now, Boys!” Some resolutions do take effect on January 1.

2. Toddler with a poo diaper? Sorry. There are no tips for it. Pinch your nose and throw up in the wash bowl.

3. You know that trick of drinking half a liter of water before going to sleep with two paracetamols? And that you can drink what you want? That one doesn’t work. Take an ibuprofen in the morning. It’s better for your liver and you don’t sleep through the effect.

4. Give the kids the leftover donuts and apple turnovers and thank the world on your bare knees for iPads.

5. Draw all the curtains (oh, the delight!), throw the covers on the couch, and yell, “Look, a movie theater!” No one will notice that you are simply slumbering in the corner of the couch.

6. Oh, and that mantra from your college days, ‘Fat, Moisture and Vitamins’? You misunderstood that all along. Breakfast at the local chip shop is of course a feast for the children, but salmon, nuts and avocados work better. Also against your guilt, by the way.

7. Better yet, play diner and let the kids prepare it for you. You really have something worse on your mind than the ensuing battlefield in the kitchen.

8. Grandmas and grandpas don’t have hangovers. If you have them at your disposal, use them. Emphasize the joys of a long walk in the woods with the grandchildren. And did they already have something to do next weekend? Because then you can of course come for a cup of coffee. Complete with flower bulb and cake.

9. Although walking in the open air does work against a hangover, and the children enjoy themselves there. You can warm up afterwards with a port.

10. Be happy. And thankful. That with those wonderful children, you are also just human and enjoy life. After today, then. We’ll try that. With spa.
