Google’s smartest widget gets two new features
Google is working on new features for its smart At a Glance widget. This is what you can expect.

At a Glance widget
The At a Glance widget is part of the Google app and can be found on the Pixel phone’s home screen. The widget shows useful information such as the date, weather, reminders or the next appointment in your calendar. If you have set your Pixel to the Dutch language, the widget is called ‘Quick overview’. The information can also be found on the lock screen.
The widget also shows flight information if you’ve received tickets in Gmail. This information will soon be expanded with airport data and flight schedules. 9to5Google discovered this in version 14.11 of the Google app (beta version).

Near the airport
If you’re near an airport (e.g. picking someone up), the At a Glance widget can show you a handy shortcut to the airport arrival times page. So the site where you can enter the flight number or the airline.
Close to public transport
The same shortcut is also available for arrival and departure times of trains and buses. At a Glance sees when you are near a bus or train and then shows the correct timetable. You will then be directed to Google Maps. The widget could perhaps also show the arrival and departure times directly on the home screen, but the space is too small for that.
