Google will launch new Pixel Buds earphones next week

Google will launch the Pixel Buds Pro on May 11 during Google I/O, according to new rumors. The wireless earphones come in three colors, but little else is known about the price or specifications. They will be released next week along with the Pixel Watch and Pixel 6a.

Our expectations for Google I/O next week are starting to take shape. The Rumor Spreader Jon Prosser says in a tweet that Google will launch the Pixel Buds Pro “soon”. He doesn’t say when exactly, but it seems to point to a launch during Google’s two-day event on May 11 and 12.

The Pixel Buds Pro are new wireless earphones that come in four colors: Real Red, Carbon, Limoncello and Fog. And that’s the leaked information we’ll have to make do for now. It also seems plausible that Google will introduce ANC, or active noise canceling, with its Pro earphones. The Pixel Buds 2 lack the ability to filter out distracting background noise.

Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch

In addition to a few new wireless earphones, we expect even more new products at the I/O conference, which normally revolves around software. Google will showcase its first smartwatch, the Pixel Watch, and it’s also showing off a new mid-range phone with the Pixel 6a. Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently made us enthusiastic about new hardware on I/O.

Still, we have to be a little careful about the Pixel Buds Pro, because for now only Prosser claims that we will see it soon. Prosser is usually right with his Google leaks, but he’s already been wrong a few times, or it happened that a product came out later than he expected. We may receive confirmation from even more sources in the run-up to May 11 that the Buds Pro are coming.
