Google Pixel Watch can expect updates for three years

Last week there was the announcement of the Pixel 7 series and the Pixel Watch. Google’s first smartwatch will receive updates for a shorter time than other Pixel devices, as is clear from the information that has now become available.

Three years of updates to Pixel Watch

Google presented several new products during the Made by Google event last week. For example, the Pixel 7 series, which is even for sale in the Netherlands from today. The Pixel Watch also received attention, but a Dutch release is not yet in sight. If you want to get hold of the first smartwatch from Google, you can possibly drive to the eastern neighbors. In Germany, the watch will be on the market.

Google has now announced that the brand will be rolling out updates to the Pixel Watch for a period of three years, starting from the date the watch is available in the United States; what this month is. Google itself speaks of ‘regular updates’, but does not say how often the updates become available. Updates can be security updates, but also updates with new features, bug fixes and the like. This means that the smartwatch will receive updates until October 2025. The Pixel 7 smartphones will be provided with updates for five years, just like previous Pixels, with the first four years also about Android updates.
