Google Pixel Feature Drop of June is here! These are all new features
Four times a year it’s a party for Pixel users, because then they get new features for free. Today it’s that time again with the June Pixel Feature Drop where Pixel phones receive a security update with new features. These are all novelties.

- Safety Check + Emergency Sharing: Instantly share information, such as your location, with emergency contacts using the Google Assistant. Set up a safety check for peace of mind after a night out.
- Car Crash Detection + Emergency Sharing: Your Pixel phone can now not only call 911 in the event of a car accident, but also send a message to your emergency contacts.
- Macro Focus Video for Pixel 7 Pro: Now also shoot macro videos with your Pixel 7 Pro and capture small details “impressively”.
- Cinematic Wallpapers: Give your background a lifelike 3D effect using Google AI. Check out the demo for a taste.
- Emoji Wallpapers: Create new wallpapers using your favorite emoji.
- PalmTimer (as of Pixel 6): Activate your Pixel’s self-timer by simply showing your palm. Effortlessly take group shots without running to the camera.
Emoji and Cinematic wallpapers
Google unveiled the Emoji Workshop Wallpapers during I/O 2023, which Android 14 Beta 3 users could already get started with. These unique wallpapers are created using generative AI technology. Read more about the emoji wallpapers. The Cinematic Wallpapers are a bit like the Cinematic Photos feature in Google Photos. These 3D wallpapers have a ‘cinematic’ effect.

Additional features
In addition, a number of smaller new features are coming to Pixel phones. Of Adaptive Alert Vibration your Pixel now vibrates more subtly when it’s on the table, so you’re not always startled. In addition, your Pixel fits with adaptive charging adjusts the charging rate based on the expected charging time, which is better for the battery. With the Home Panel you have enhanced access to your smart home directly from the lock screen. Finally it will be Find My Device now easier to discover devices even when they are offline.
