“Google Pixel 7 gets an improved selfie camera”

The upcoming Google Pixel 7 should get a better selfie camera compared to its predecessor. With the selfie camera of the Google Pixel 7 you should be able to record in 4K video. In addition, the selfie camera will contain more and larger pixels.

The Google Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro will be the new flagships from Google and we should be able to expect in the shops around October. However, Google will not be Google if we have been able to see the devices in their full glory well in advance. No, Google never really makes a big secret of its upcoming devices. This year it even showed as a teaser of the Pixel 7 (Pro) at Google I/O.

Many specifications of the device are already on the street. For example, we know that the Google Pixel 7 (Pro) will run on a new Tensor chip of our own making. Google said that this processor should ensure “more breakthroughs in the field of AI and more personalized experiences in the field of security, photography and video.”

Improved selfie camera

The selfie camera of the Google Pixel 7 has to be improved, compared to the Google Pixel 6. Where the Pixel 6 Pro could record in 4K video, the Pixel 6 could ‘only’ do this in a resolution of 1080p. The Pixel 7 should no longer have this downgrade compared to its more expensive Pro brother. This reports 9to5Google. They also report that the Google Pixel 7 will probably get the same selfie camera as the Google Pixel 6 Pro. This is an 11.1 MP variant with an aperture of f/2.2. The Pixel 6 has an 8 MP selfie camera. Our Sebastien tested the selfie camera in his review of the Google Pixel 6 Pro and said the following about it:

The 11.1MP camera competes against the Pixel 5’s 8MP sensor, which is also used in the Pixel 6. Both cameras can take great photos, but it is noticeable that the colors with the Pixel Pro are more accurate and photos contain a little more detail.
