Google Pixel 6 may get up to 5 years of support for Android updates

Google Pixel 6 is expected to be introduced later this year. We know a few parameters that the models of the new series from the workshop of the American giant Google will have. There is also talk of very long, up to five years of software support. The information is reported by the Android Central web portal.

We know that the basic Pixel 6 will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display. At the back will be a 50 MP main camera, along with a 12 MP ultra wide angle sensor. 128 to 256 GB of internal storage will suffice for most, as will 8 GB of RAM. The battery will have an unusual capacity of 4614 mAh.

As for the “Pro” variant, the diagonal of its screen will increase up to 6.71 inches. It is said that the smaller version should feature Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Google Pixel 6 Pro should have up to Quad HD + resolution and also 120 Hz.

Up to three sensors can be found on the back. The third, additional, will be a 48 MP telephoto lens. Of course, there will also be 256 GB of internal storage for user data and 12 GB of RAM. They will be pleased that the capacity of the integrated battery has also increased, up to 5,000 mAh.

It is possible that Google will use its own Whitechapel chipsets in its new Pixel series. The most interesting leak, however, is the information that Android updates will take up to five years. Currently, the South Korean giant Samsung reigns in this, promising four years of Android updates.

Google probably wants to approach its operating system, or the length of its support, to the competing iOS from Apple, which has long boasted of very long support. On the other hand, we would like to point out that it is not yet completely certain whether these are updates for individual versions of Android, or whether support for security updates is included.
