The 5 most indispensable apps of 2022 according to Stefan

Every year the editors of DroidApp share several nice lists. This also includes lists of the most indispensable apps of the past year for them. These are the most indispensable apps of 2022 according to Stefan.

Essential apps according to Stefan

It’s time again for one of my most favorite lists of the year. Day in, day out I spend with my smartphone, currently the Samsung Galaxy S22+. The smartphone is full of apps. I don’t use every app every day. In principle, I could copy and paste most of last year’s list, but that makes the whole thing a bit boring. For a change, I have listed a number of new apps that I also used often in 2022.

Duolingo

Duolingo remains in first place anyway. Last year I actively started learning the Swedish language. After almost two years of Duolingo, I notice that I have really learned a thing or two thanks to the help of this language learning app. It is a pity that the grammar is not always treated in more depth and that you cannot learn Swedish from Dutch (but from English). The new design that has been implemented in the app this year is not exactly an improvement in my opinion. Sitting down every morning with Duolingo in hand and you really make steps.

TV Guide app

The application of TVGids app is also opened daily. Although I regularly watch content via services such as Netflix or Videoland, I also like to watch programs on the well-known channels, all on the Philips 55OLED807, which we have discussed extensively in the review. The TVGids app is a handy tool for this, because it allows me to immediately see which programs are being broadcast on television tonight. The many advertisements and sometimes some scrolling problems are a bit annoying, but otherwise a useful application.

DirectLease Tank Service app

DirectLease Tank Service

The DirectLease Tank Service app has clearly become a lot more popular in the past year. The app has been indispensable on my smartphone for years, but with the petrol prices of the past year, every penny you could save on the liter price was a bonus. With this handy app you can see the current fuel prices in both the Netherlands and Belgium. We have already included the app in the overview of cheap refueling apps.

komoot app

Komoot

The Komoot app has also proved to be indispensable for me this year. This year I bought a racing bike, to keep moving between typing the many messages for DroidApp. Komoot is a free service that allows you to plan your cycling tour. When planning your trip, you can take tips from other users into account. Then I synchronize the route with my Garmin Edge 830 cycling computer and the trip can begin. Routes can be exported or shared with friends. After the trip I sync my whole mess with Strava.

AllFolders app

AllFolders

Not the prettiest app, but a very nice one. The AlleFolders app bundles all advertising brochures of this and later next week. Handy, to see which groceries you can get the cheapest where, whether the candles are on sale again at the HEMA, or the cans of paint at the hardware store. You can add stores as favorites so that you can find them again quickly. In addition, with many offers you can be forwarded to the page of the store. With the cut function you can cut out offers, with which you can find the cut out offers on your bulletin board.

But there was more

There were other applications that I spent the days with. Fuelio for keeping track of fuel costs, SwiftKey keyboard for typing messages on my smartphone, and last but not least; Telegram for chat work. For those who are still not convinced of the versatility of Telegram, I also use WhatsApp. I am also still slightly addicted to Instagram and I also often use the ING Banking, Flamingo and Facebook app. And maybe used as often as the rest; Google Maps. For reviews, but also a huge source of inspiration for planning the holiday.
