Google Photos improves memories with handy addition

A server-side update is rolling out for Google Photos. Google’s photo app has received improvements for the memories. This way you can immediately see where a photo was taken, and with which camera the picture was captured.

Google Photos with information on reminders

The memories in Google Photos can be fun to look back on past moments. The application sends out a notification for this if you have reminders to watch. However, you can also go to the Google Photos app itself, where you can see at the top of the screen which memories you have from a few years ago, or around a certain theme. Now the reminders in Google Photos have a welcome improvement.

Previously, when you tapped the three dots, you were presented with a menu with some options. You could view all the photos of that day, save a memory in an album, or adjust the settings. Now a nice swipe menu has been added, which you can call up by swiping from bottom to top on a photo. The previous options do not disappear, but have been moved to that same screen. You will now receive much more information. You can immediately see the date and time on which the photo in question was taken. If location data is available, you will immediately see the location on the map. You can also see with which camera the photo was taken and you get a bit of information such as the megapixels and the resolution.

You don’t need to download an update from the Google Play Store for the new feature. You will see the functionality automatically if Google has activated the server-side update for you.
