Google Phone now handles hated slot machines better
You know it. You call a large company that you need to do something, at best, after entering a few numbers, you get to where you needed to go (for example, to the operator’s ear), or at worst, you listen to soothing music for a few minutes without results. Probably few people enjoy this, so it’s no wonder that Google has also started preparing a solution for its basic Phone application. Features are beginning to be introduced in the United States Wait Times (waiting times) a Direct My Call (direct my call) that have the inevitable simplify communication with payphones.
The Wait Times tool is very similar to the current depiction of the occupancy of stores or other public places in Google Maps. The point is that as soon as the user enters a number in the field to start a call, the database immediately offers him an overview, how long to wait for the connection at specific hours.
In the case of the new Direct My Call, the Phone application, in cooperation with Google Assistant and under the auspices of the Duplex project, will ensure that they are on display all options overwrittenwhich the machine dictates to the caller. And it into the form of individual buttonsthat you can walk through in peace and then choose the right one.
Both new features are part of the broader suite of tools that Google Phone gets for facilitate making, handling and receiving calls. This includes, for example, the previously introduced ability to detect annoying calls or automatic number assignment to companies. They already work in the Czech Republic. We’ll probably have to wait a while for Wait Times and Direct My Call.
