Google is the first to make Fuchsia OS available for Nest Hub
Google released its new operating system quite unexpectedly. First of all, Fuchsia OS is available for the first generation Google Nest Hub. Google has been working on Fuchsia OS for years.
Fuchsia OS for Nest Hub
For a long time we have seen reports about a new operating system from Google; Fuchsia OS. Fuchsia OS has been tested since 2016, as an ambitious experimental project looking at different devices. At the time there were rumors that Fuchsia OS would even replace Android. Fuchsia OS must be a suitable platform in the world of smart devices (IoT). This not only works on the smart assistant (such as the Nest Hub screen), but can also work with smart watches and other devices.
First of all, Fuchsia OS is available for the first generation Google Nest Hub. Users will be offered the update in the near future, but virtually nothing will change in terms of functionality and display. The difference is that the underlying piece of technology is Fuchsia OS, instead of the currently used Cast OS, which is developed around Linux.
It is not known what the next plans are with Fuchsia OS. Google may want to make it available to more devices at a later time. Considering this is a new operating system, it seems that Google wants to test the findings with the Nest Hub first.
