Google Home app completely new: this is what it looks like

Google has released a new version of the Google Home app. The application has been given a whole new look and this should make it easier to operate. What’s new and what will change?

In order to be able to control the smart devices and things in the house, there are various apps to control this, including the Google Home app. The application has now been given a new look. This after ten years after Google started building the app.

The new version of the app is already popping up on the internet, but it is not recommended to use it yet. After all, it is not yet fully equipped with all possibilities and it is also unstable and crashes regularly. It is currently still an app that is intended for internal use and will only be released in the Google Play Store at a later time, although Google has already officially announced the new app.

The smart home standard technology Matter is also present in the app. This ensures that (smart) devices in the network work together in an optimal way. The new Google Home app is a huge improvement. There is a separate mini media player for connected audio devices. The interface has also been updated for smart cameras, such as those from Nest.

Google Home Spaces

We see a new improvement in various options. Fast Pair for Matter ensures that you can connect smart products at lightning speed and immediately. Spaces gives you access to devices in certain groups, such as your lighting, your thermostat, network equipment, cameras and the like. Google says it will roll out improvements for the Spaces next year, where you can also create groups yourself and add products to those groups. Next year, the Nest app will also become redundant as Nest products will be more deeply integrated into the Google Home app. Furthermore, routines are improved with their own menu option in the navigation bar and their use is refined.

When exactly Google will release the new Google Home app is not entirely clear.
