Google has restored lost features in the Play Store

Users of the Google Play Store have complained in recent days about the lack of important information in apps and games. It was about the information about the app updates, and it now seems to be visible again.

Changelogs and ‘Updated on’

The changelogs of app updates in the Play Store were gone on mobile for quite some time. Because of this, it was not clear what an update for an app or game entailed. In the ‘What’s new’ section, all apps showed the message ‘No developer information’. The desktop version of the Google Play Store did show the information about the updates.

The changelogs are back

The ‘Updated on’ section was also no longer visible for some time. That’s the section at the bottom of the app page that you see when you tap “About this app.” This is especially useful for finding out when the developer last updated the app or game. Is there a date from the distant past? Then you know that the app is no longer actively maintained, and you better ignore it.

Fortunately, both functions have been restored in the Google Play Store on mobile. So you can now see exactly what new functions are in an update for an app. You can also see when an app was last updated.

Are you also seeing the “What’s New” and “Updated On” items in the Play Store on your phone? Let us know in the comments below this article.
