Google has angered Android TV users. Ads have started running in the interface
Advertising is Google’s main source of revenue, so it’s no wonder it tries to place it wherever it is. This time, however, she overdid it a bit and started showing ads on the Android TV interface, which users were not enthusiastic about. Dissatisfaction was expressed by more than 600 users who left cruel, one-star reviews on the Google Play store. The Android Police portal informed about the topic.
Owners of expensive devices are mainly complaining about ads on the Android TV interface
Most reviews are maintained by owners of Nvidia SHIELD, who have paid a lot of money for it and yet they are bothered by ads. Chromecast users or owners of expensive Sony TVs that use Android TV also left a few reviews.
Google is not the first company to choose to show ads on smart TVs. The ads also show other interfaces, but these are usually installed on affordable devices where it doesn’t bother users. However, owners of more expensive equipment will no longer be so tolerant.
Google is unlikely to reconsider its decision
It is questionable whether Google will reconsider its decision to run ads on Android TV. There’s no reason for that, as most new users won’t see this one-star app rating and hundreds of negative reviews in the Play store anyway, as there’s no need to install the app manually.
