Google has a nice Batman easter egg

After Christian Bale and Ben Affleck, it is now Robert Pattinson’s turn to play the Batman. He does that in The Batman, a film that is in theaters from March 3. Google is now celebrating the caped crusader with a fun easter egg. This is how you get to see him.

Bat-signal

If you go to Google.nl, you only have to enter ‘bat-signal’ (not to be confused with bad signal) or ‘Bruce Wayne’ in the search engine to get the easter egg. If all goes well, a knowledge box will appear on the right containing, of course, information about what you have just googled, but also a moving picture.

We are referring to the moving batlamp that has appeared. When you click or tap on that, the party starts: we won’t spoil it with text or images. The nice thing is that Google has opted for the old-fashioned, animation style Batman here, so that it doesn’t become a very commercial party for the upcoming film. In fact, it wouldn’t have anything to do with the movie at all.

The Batman

Also funny: if you just google for The Batman or Batman, you won’t get this option in your search results. Just like with many easter eggs, it’s just a matter of: you just have to know. But once you know it, you have to try it once of course.

In the new film The Batman, Robert Pattinson takes on the role of Bruce Wayne, the man we all know mainly as his alter ego Batman. The film has a very dark tone, just like Gotham City. Also exactly as befits director Matt Reeves, who worked on Let Me In and the modern Planet of the Apes films, among other things.

The Batman is in cinemas in the Netherlands from March 3, with previews on March 2, if you can’t wait.
