Google denies an upcoming shutdown of Stadia

Google wanted to deny a rumor that has been circulating in recent days, announcing that Stadia would close its doors by the end of the summer. But this information is false. It seemed suspicious from the start and Google wanted to reassure players.

The rumor came from a Facebook group dedicated to Stadia where a user claimed to have a contact within Google. This contact would have informed him of the upcoming closure of the cloud gaming service, with the announcement which would have taken place during a seminar in California.

So this is all fake and the official Stadia Twitter account reacted first humorously with a tweet alluding to this supposed seminar in California. In another tweet, the band says:

Stadia is not shutting down. Rest assured we’re always working on bringing more great games to the platform and Stadia Pro. Let us know if you have other questions.

You should know that Google has a reputation for regularly abandoning many services. But Stadia will obviously not be one of them.
