Google Contacts app gets trash function

A new feature is rolling out to the Google Contacts app. The latest version of the application allows to use the recycle bin. Useful for restoring contacts, among other things.

Google Contacts with Trash Bin

Google Contacts is the default phone book app found on many Android smartphones. Google is quietly rolling out a new update for the Android application, which can be useful when using the app. You can find the option “Trash” in the side menu of the Google Contacts app. The new option will be added via a server-side update, so you don’t need to download an update for it from the Google Play Store.

We estimate that the chance that you are often busy deleting contacts is quite small, but if you are busy once, the trash can is handy. Because when you accidentally delete a contact, it will first end up in your trash. There you still have the option to permanently empty the trash or to restore a contact. By the way, thirty days after deletion, the recycle bin is automatically deleted.
