“Future Android versions will get support for app cloning”

We already see support for app cloning at various manufacturers, which can sometimes be very useful. Now Google also seems to want to tack and offer the possibility to duplicate an application in Android.

Cloning apps can be useful in various circumstances. Consider duplicating an application to manage multiple accounts if an app doesn’t support multi-account login. For example, by installing duplicate apps you can also use them at the same time, such as cloning the Snapchat app.

A document about Android 12 talks about a new function, so that apps can be cloned. However, the new function is not yet available in Android 12, and it is unclear whether the functionality will be definitively available, and if so, when Google wants to implement this. Google may have the new feature in preparation for Android 12.1.
