Since iOS 7 it is possible to block an iPhone phone number. Before that, you couldn’t actually block anyone except through a jailbreak or some other complicated way. Fortunately, today it is so squeaky.

Block iPhone Phone Number
Blocking a phone number on your iPhone is very simple. Follow these four steps to stop the annoying caller.
Block phone number on iPhone
- Open the Phone app and go to the ‘Recent’ tab;
- Tap the ‘i’ next to the number you want to block;
- Scroll down and tap ‘Block this caller’;
- Tap ‘Block Contact’.
The caller can no longer reach you. The person also can’t send you FaceTime calls and texting is also impossible. Voicemails no longer come through.
Unblock Block
Have you made a mistake and accidentally blocked someone you know? Then you can also unblock the caller again. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Go to your iPhone’s Settings app;
- Choose ‘Phone > Blocked Contacts’;
- Then choose ‘Edit’ at the top right and tap the red button that appears in front of the contact;
- Select ‘Unblock’ to complete the process.
Block anonymous numbers and callers
Unfortunately, it’s a different story when you’re called anonymously. Calling back is then not possible and such a number cannot be blocked. However, there is another way to get rid of these types of callers.
Your iPhone has an option to ignore unknown callers. Calls from numbers you don’t know are then silenced, sent to voicemail and displayed in ‘Recent’. iPhone will still ring for incoming calls from your contacts, people you’ve called, and Siri Suggestions.
To silence unknown callers, perform the following actions.
- Go to ‘Settings > Phone’;
- Scroll to the bottom and tap ‘Hush unknown callers’;
- Turn the option on with the slider.
