Zandwetering Park – Deventer
Cycling, rollerblading, picnicking: there is plenty to do in Deventer’s newest city park. For the children you will find a playground with wooden equipment and a walkway over the pool in the middle. Don’t forget to look for frogs and other small water creatures.

City Park Berg & Bos – Apeldoorn
Children can have fun in this park with all kinds of climbing and play equipment and a sturdy lookout tower of up to 26 meters high. The tower is the highest in the Veluwe – okay, it’s quite a climb, but once at the top you are rewarded with a beautiful view.
Grift Park – Utrecht
With a playground, petting zoo, skating rink and basketball court, children can have fun all day long. In the summer you can enjoy the pond and a drink on the terrace of the restaurant.
Vijversburg – Leeuwarden
A day out to Leeuwarden with the whole family? Then take a look at Park Vijversburg as well. You can enjoy walking and for adventurers there is a water labyrinth where you have to reach the exit with a raft.
Volkspark – Enschede
Near the center of Enschede you will find this nice park with ponds and all kinds of animal and plant species. Rabbits, pygmy goats and small sheep are also present. For children there is a large playground.
Kralingse Bos – Rotterdam
A beautiful forest around the Kralingse Plas and ideal for jogging, skating or swimming. On the west side are many lawns and playgrounds with a cable car, sand machines and a water slide. There is also a children’s pool and a petting zoo. Tip: around the lake are restaurants and terraces with a beautiful view of the skyline of Rotterdam.
Vondel Park – Amsterdam
This multicultural park should certainly not be missing from this list. Unfortunately, the well-known Open Air Theater is canceled due to corona, but this year the Outdoor Games will take place for children from 8 to 12 years old. You learn everything about timing and choreography, how a theater performance is made and you will design costumes. You can register here.

Park Sonsbeek – Arnhem
Here you will find a beautiful landscape with forests, a vegetable garden, water features, a deer park and a belvedere. Enough beauty to see, then.
Valkenberg – Breda
Park Valkenberg is located in the center of Breda, behind the Castle of Breda. It is especially wonderful for walking, but of course there are also play facilities for children.
Kronenburger Park – Nijmegen
You probably know this park, which is located near the center of Nijmegen, from the 1985 hit of the same name by Frank Boeijen. The landscape has many differences in height, which makes for a nice walk. You’ll even find a waterfall and cave and to top it all off, deer, goats, peacocks and chickens walk in the animal meadow.
Noorderplantsoen – Groningen
Enjoy a nice cup of coffee, a glass of wine or eat at Flinders, the café in the middle of the park. Want to learn more from nature? Around this area there are about fifty different types of trees, often with name plates. You can also see the most beautiful flowers in the park.
Nature Park – Lelystad
This is a park in the former Zuiderzee. There are all kinds of (wild) animals such as wild boars, otters, storks, deer and Przewalski horses. The park is well suited for walking or cycling and you will find a shop and a restaurant. Fun activities are organized for children throughout the year, such as an Easter treasure hunt and a Backpack Route where you have to chase animal tracks.

City Park – Maastricht
The City Park (which consists of a number of sub-parks) of Maastricht is one of the three oldest parks in the Netherlands. Very special is the bird aviary, but also the deer park. Also don’t forget to keep an eye out for the beautiful trees, including the Golden Apple, Japanese Walnut, Paper Mulberry, Wild Lemon and a Honey Tree.
Park Eekhout – Zwolle
A super nice park in the heart of Zwolle. Pay a visit to the petting zoo and then drink a cup of tea with a treat in the tearoom.
Kromhout Park – Tilburg
You will find this fine city park a few minutes from the center of Tilburg. Children can play football there and there is a nice climbing tower, while you relax by the large pond.
Annie MG Schmidtpark – Bergschenhoek
Walking, cycling, skating: everything is possible in the Annie MG Schmidtpark between Berkel en Rodenrijs and Bergschenhoek. The park is 3.5 kilometers long and for children there is the nature playground Tuin van Floddertje. Nearby you will find swimming pool De Windas.
City walking park – Eindhoven
In this park – where you can do more than just walk, such as picnicking and viewing the sculpture garden – you can relax after an afternoon of shopping in Eindhoven.
Park of Luna – Heerhugowaard
On the edge of Heerhugowaard you will find a wonderful combination of forest, meadows, water and even a beach. Oh yes, and don’t forget the water ski slope. Anyway: a great place to enjoy yourself for a day.
Haarlemmerhout City Park – Haarlem
A beautiful park with a history that you can tell: you will find the palace of Napoleon, which is nowadays called Pavilion Welgelegen. In addition to this beautiful country house, there is much more to see in the park. Visit the deer park, the petting zoo and grab a bite to eat in the pancake house.
