free for new and existing customers

Youfone has quietly implemented an improvement in the portfolio of its subscriptions. Customers with a subscription with the purple-colored provider will have access to KPN’s 5G network. Until now, Youfone only offered 4G subscriptions.

Youfone with 5G

The major providers have been offering 5G for some time, such as T-Mobile, Vodafone and KPN. In addition, Tele2 also gives customers access to the successor to 4G. The smaller providers often lag behind in this respect. Youfone is now putting an end to this and is giving both existing and new customers access to the 5G network, according to research by DroidApp. Since Youfone uses KPN’s network, these customers also get the coverage of the KPN network, which is active with 5G throughout the Netherlands.

DroidApp discovered that Youfone has been quietly posting the information about 5G usage online. The provider has not (yet) publicized it. Until now, the provider only offered subscriptions with 4G. The information released by Youfone states that not only new customers can benefit from 5G access, but that existing customers will also be automatically and free of charge transferred to 5G. Of course, it is necessary to have a 5G smartphone for this. If the customer does not have this, it is of course possible to use the 4G network.

Youfone announces that the roll-out of 5G for Youfone customers starts today, February 8, 2023. It may take some time until every customer sees 5G on his or her device. Thanks to the application of 5G, Youfone promises a maximum download speed of 256 Mbit/s and a maximum upload speed of 150 Mbit/s. Those who want to contact Youfone for a (interestingly priced) 5G subscription can find this directly on the Youfone website. For example, a subscription with 10GB and unlimited calling costs EUR 8.00 per month.
